The third Cardiff Blues open coaching night was held at Glamorgan Wanderers’ Memorial Ground this week.

The evening followed the two successful coaching clinics held earlier in the season at Pontypridd RFC and Beddau RFC.

David Young and Rob Howley ran through moves with the Glamorgan Wanderers first team squad a week before they take on Llanelli in the Principality Premiership.

The success of the coaching clinics are growing with every event and as with the previous coaching nights, the clinic at the Memorial Ground was extremely well attended and well received with over 80 coaches from the 56 teams in the Blues region.

The Blues first team players were also busy last week taking coaching sessions in two Community Days for all Blues North Year 8 pupils at Rhydycar Leisure Centre, in Merthyr Tydfil on Tuesday and a Blues South Community Day for all Year 8 pupils at Sully Sports RFC, in the Vale of Glamorgan on Wednesday.

All the schools from within the region were invited to attend and everyone enjoyed the events with the young Blues supporters being put through their paces by the Cardiff Blues stars. The coaching included how to tackle properly and safely, how to pass, fitness and kicking.
