More than 450 members of the Cardiff Rugby family descended on the Arms Park on Friday for a special Gala Dinner to celebrate the club’s Sesquicentennial Season.

Both the first team and Cardiff RFC senior squads, the club’s academy and staff were joined by countless former players, sponsors and supporters for an unforgettable evening.

Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir provided a warm Welsh welcome, with greats of not only the club but the entire game present,  including Sir Gareth Edwards, Maurice Richards, Terry Holmes, Adrian Hadley, Mark Ring, Dai Young and Leigh Halfpenny.

All living players who had made more than 150 first team players were honoured at the evening, while a legend from every decade was inducted to the Cardiff RFC Hall of Fame.

The evening was hosted by former Cardiff, Wales and British & Irish Lions centre Tom Shanklin, with the formalities kicked off by Cardiff Athletic Club president Mervyn John.

In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, with seven inductees present, the audience was entertained by a Q&A with Gareth Davies, Terry Holmes, Martyn Williams and Nick Williams.

Following a three-course meal, inspired by the menu from the club’s Centenary Dinner held in 1976, the hugely popular Welsh of the West End, entertained the crowd on an fitting evening of celebration, friendship and reminiscing in the Welsh capital.
