A visibly disappointed David Young spared no one in his assessment of his teams performance in the seasons Celtic League opener at Donnybrook
The Blues drew 9-all against Leinster but the director of coaching was reflecting on only a few consolations. He said, The mood in the dressing room is one of a team that has lost by 20 points or more rather than gained any satisfaction from an away draw.
We did well in the scrums and competed on their lineout throws. There was also an excellent performance by Gareth Williams and Kort Schubert also did well. Behind the scrum Craig Morgan and Rhys Williams looked good at times but there were too many minuses. We were unable to build an attack beyond three or four phases because of our unforced errors and we were not committed at the point of contact.
Young confirmed that there was no apparent long-term damage to Jamie Robinsons knee after he retired injured in the 67th minute while scrum-half Richard Smiths thumb might require an x-ray.
