Cardiff Blues player, Rhys Williams is supporting his local Oxfam shop to get the people of Cardiff to buy Oxfam Unwrapped gifts this year.
The Christmas 2008 range is the biggest yet and is on sale now.
Unwrapped is the alternative way of Christmas shopping with fun and unusual gifts including “buy a bog” (£50), or 5 bags of seeds (£10), 8 school books (£6) or an animal house and food (£18). There is something for everyone from the Foodie you know, to the DIYer, animal lover or bookworm.
Rhys Williams said: “It’s a great ‘feel good’ Christmas present for someone! I will be buying some of the players a goat this Christmas!”
And Rhys is sure that the Unwrapped gifts will be a hot topic of discussion in the Blues dressing room:
“I think the boys will find some fun in buying something so unusual for their friends and family from Unwrapped. How else would you give a camel or a toilet as a present? What’s really great though is that these gifts make a massive difference to peoples lives”
In buying a gift from Unwrapped it means you give twice – not only to your nearest and dearest but also to somebody the other side of the world that could really have a huge impact on their lives.
Head of Oxfam Cymru, Steve Brooks said: “Oxfam Unwrapped has solved so many gift dilemmas over the years and has made such a difference in supporting Oxfam’s work. At a time when people want to make their money go further buying an Unwrapped gift is the perfect solution and this year it couldn’t be easier! We hope to raise even more money this Christmas”.
The Christmas 2008 Oxfam Unwrapped catalogue is available in all Oxfam Cymru shops or by calling 0300 200 1252. Shoppers can also visit http://www.oxfamunwrapped.com/. Orders must be placed by 21st December to allow time for delivery.
