Rhys Williams is to be the beneficiary of a testimonial year commencing on 1st July 2007 until 30th June 2008.

Rhys has been an integral part of both Cardiff RFC and Cardiff Blues over the years and has registered a number of outstanding achievements in his illustrious career to date.

Rhys is delighted to return to the team, after suffering a lengthy time with serious injury away from the field this season. Last October Rhys tore his thigh muscle off the bone, which meant a unique operation and seven months rehabilitation before returning to fitness. After an excellent hat-trick return debut against Edinburgh two weeks ago, Rhys is looking forward to next seasonÂ’s challenges for the Cardiff Blues in what promises to be an exciting year for the player.

Chairman of the committee Paul Hopkins said:

“I was delighted and honoured to be asked by Rhys to chair his committee. We plan to have a number of events organised throughout the year and welcome and invite the support of all businesses and supporters throughout Wales. All details will be available at a later date and the committee look forward to receiving your support in what we hope will be memorable year for Rhys.”
