The Cardiff Blues can confirm that young Blues Academy prop Patrick Palmer will play for the Newport Gwent Dragons this weekend.
Palmer, who was part of the Wales Under 20’s squad that secured second place in this season’s Under-20 Six Nations Championship, will play for the Dragons against Magners League champions Leinster at Rodney Parade on Friday 9 May, kick-off 7.10pm. Speaking of the mach Gafyn Cooper, Blues Performance Manager said, “This a great opportunity for Patrick to experience Regional rugby and we are fully supportive of him having a match for the Dragons. We look forward to welcoming him back to the Academy next season after a very successful season for him with Cardiff RFC and Wales. He is of course also a member of the Wales under 20’s squad for the IRB Under 20 World Cup which is held in Wales in June.”
