Following sustained adverse weather conditions in the region, the local authority have taken the decision to suspend all sporting activity on health and safety grounds.
A statement from EPCR read: “The Challenge Cup, Round 4 match between Pau and Cardiff Blues scheduled for this evening (Friday, 13 December) has been postponed. The decision was taken by the local authority on health and safety grounds as persistent, heavy rain continues to fall in the area.
“The Pool 5 match will now be played at the Stade du Hameau tomorrow (Saturday, 14 December) with a 13.00 kick-off (local time).
“EPCR would like to thank both clubs, as well their supporters, for their understanding.”
Following the announcement, Cardiff Blues chief executive Richard Holland added: "We are fully supportive of the decision as the weather has been atrocious since we arrived in the region.
"We are very grateful to our supporters who have travelled a long way and have navigated through various strikes to be here but safety has to come first. We appreciate their patience and understanding and hopefully they will all be able to attend the game tomorrow afternoon and we we look forward to seeing them at Stade du Hameau.
"Our rugby operations team are now exploring all options to get the team home after the game tomorrow ahead of a big week leading into the Ospreys."
