Following their first round victory over Bourgoin last weekend Cardiff Blues have already sold more than 14,000 tickets for Sundays Heineken Cup clash against Leicester Tigers at the Millennium Stadium.
They have already broken a number of targets with 8,485 being the Blues average attendance last season, 10,237 being the Blues highest attendance this season against London Wasps, and 12,500 the Cardiff Arms Park Capacity .
The record for tickets sales for a Heineken Cup match at the Arms Park has also been broken, it stood at 13,329 when Cardiff RFC took on Saracens in the 2000/01 season.
The Blues highest attendance for a match stands at 15,327 when they beat Leinster in the thrilling match at the Millennium Stadium last May setting a Celtic League attendance record.
Aided by a strong marketing campaign that encompasses advertising in cinemas, bus shelters, newspapers and radio along with direct and viral marketing to students and businesses in the Blues region they are selling over 1,000 tickets a day and are on course to break this seasons attendance record set by Leinster who had 22,500 supporters watching them take on Gloucester at Lansdowne Road.
Supporters are advised to purchase their tickets in advance and are encouraged to turn up early on the day. There will be a supporters village by the Clubhouse in the Arms Park with an open air beer garden, hog roast and the family lounge will be open as usual with face painting and games for the younger supporters. As well as the usual Under 8s match at half time their will also be a trophy parade celebrating the achievements of all the champion teams in the Blues region.
