CA Brive v Cardiff Rugby kick-off change

First Team News | 19th January 2023

Cardiff Rugby’s final European Challenge Cup pool stage encounter against CA Brive has been brought forward.

Due to the possibility of freezing conditions in the vicinity of the match venue on Saturday night (21 January), it has been decided to change the kick-off time of Saturday’s EPCR Challenge Cup, Round 4 fixture between CA Brive and Cardiff Rugby at Stade Amédée-Doménech.

The kick-off of the contest in Pool A has been brought forward to 16.15 local time (15:15 UK) on Saturday when temperatures are forecast to be conducive to playing the match without any risk. This change has been pre-emptively agreed by CA Brive, Cardiff Rugby, EPCR, the Ligue Nationale de Rugby and the United Rugby Championship.

The playing surface at Stade de Brive is currently playable, covered and heated ahead of the fixture which will be broadcast live on epcrugby.tv.

Cardiff are currently top of Pool A and have a guaranteed home encounter in the last 16 but are targeting the highest possible seeding to secure the most favourable draws in the knockout stages.

The fixture is being screened live at the Cardiff Arms Park clubhouse.
