Brecon RFC hosted a TAG festival for the Primary Schools in the local area recently.

A number of smaller schools unable to participate in 10 aside schools rugby because of their size were given the chance to participate in the 7 aside TAG game. As TAG is a non contact sport the players soon grasped the need to look for and attack space and some excellent skills were shown by all.

The schools that participated were Llanfaes Primary, Penmaes Primary, Mount Street Primary, and Gladestry Primary. Thanks again to the teachers and pupils from these schools I hope to see you all again next year. Thanks must also go the volunteers from Brecon RFC who assisted in the organisation of the tournament.

The Future Blues South-Powys Festival Season is now nearly complete with Primary School festivals also being held at Crickhowell RFC and a festival for Builth Wells and Llandridnod Wells schools at Treffonen Primary school. With only the Nick Evans Memorial Festival to come at Gwernyfed RFC every club in South-Powys will have held a festival. Thanks go to the hard work of Development Officers, Teachers and the all important Club volunteers in assisting the Future Blues Programme in giving pupils from the entire region the opportunity to participate and enjoy TAG Rugby.

The 2006/2007 programme concludes on July 11th and 12th with the FUTURE BLUES NORTH TAG FESTIVAL at Cardiff Arms Park.
