‘Y’ don’t you get involved in Ty Hafen fun day

People across South Wales will be going ‘Y’ crazy for the special children’s charity fundraising event.

Ty Hafen children’s Hospice in Sully is asking people to help raise funds and awareness by taking part in it’s in it’s Ty Hafen Day on Friday March 24, the same day as Cardiff Blues play Glasgow Warriors.

Using the letters of Ty Hafen this annual event was launched last year with the letter T with more than 150 fund-raising events taking place, it was a great success.

This year the theme of the day is Y – giving schools, clubs and businesses the chance to hold Y themed fun events.

Diane Stringer, business development fundraiser at Ty Hafen said: “Giving the fun day an alphabetical theme lets people’s imagination run riot.”

One of last years top fund-raisers Caerphilly based insurance and financial services company Thomas Caroll Group Plc joined forces with Cardiff Blues to launch this years special day.

Phil Roberts account manager of Thomas Caroll said “We would like to see as many people as possible joining us in staging Y-day events.”

Armed with yo-yo’s Blues stars Tom Shanklin, Xavier Rush and Marc Stcherbina kicked off the event at Cardiff Arms Park, and at the Blues home game against Glasgow on March 24 there will be a collection.
