Flanker Alex Mann says the squad is fully focused on bouncing back in the second Test against Japan after a narrow defeat in the opener, and insists the group has what it takes to finish the tour on a high.

The 23-year-old, has had an injury hit season and admits the time away from the game has made this chance to represent Wales feel even more meaningful.

“We’ve been doing lot of hard work over the last couple of weeks, so we’re all looking forward to it and it’s an opportunity to get that win and to get stuck in really,” said Mann.

“I love it to be honest, I’ve been out for a while with injury and maybe realised how much more it means to us boys to represent Wales and our country on behalf of the fans.

“There’s no better feeling really than to have chance to represent the country again tomorrow – it’s a massive honour.”

Despite the first Test loss, Mann believes there is a growing sense of belief in the camp and a determination to deliver in Kobe.

“I think it means everything to us. We’ve made it clear that that’s what we want to get, is two wins here, so a win tomorrow is massive, and even though there’s inexperience, we’ve got a lot of experience within the squad and they speak really well, especially with the coaches as well.

“We do feel really confident in how we’ve trained and what we can bring on the pitch. I think it’s just that 80 minutes performance tomorrow to top it all off, top the tour off, and that’s what we’re focusing on.”

Conditions in Kobe have been testing, but the team has adapted well, according to Mann and is confident heading into the fixture.

“The roof is closed, the sun isn’t directly on you but it’s still warm, still sticky. I think we expected that and we’ve prepped really well for that, so there’s no real surprises with us there,” he added.

“We’re used to it back home when the Principality is shut but it’s lovely stadium, and we’re expecting a great occasion tomorrow.

“I think it’s pretty positive and I think the boys are more than deserve to get the win tomorrow.”
