Pontypridd put in a superb performance in their new Cardiff Blues kit.

They came out of the blocks rearing to go and played first class rugby. Five excellent tries, 2 for Shane Hutchinson, 2 for Sam Edwards & 1 for Jonathan Barnett and 4 conversions by Dion Holland, saw them run out comfortable winners.

Pontypridd were four tries to nil up at half time – playing open and fast rugby. The approach blew Rhondda off the park, but credit to them, they managed to get two tries in the second half and managed to get over the try line twice more only to be held up by the Ponty defence. For fifteen minutes Rhondda attacked the Ponty line but the defensive tackling was excellent.

Once Pontypridd managed to grapple the ball from their forwards and spun it wide to get their fifth try.
