On Sunday 25th March there will be a girls Skills Day, held at Aberdare RFC.
The girls U15 Skills Day is open to teams, individuals and school teams. The Skills Day will start at 10am for girls to register, before a wide range of activities kicks off at 10:30am sharp. The aim of these activities will be to introduce the players to skills such as fitness, decision making and much more! These activities will be delivered by coaches from the Blues region, and several Development Officers will also be on hand to help and support when necessary.
The activities allow for development to take place at the pace of each group and girls of various standards will learn techniques that will be invaluable within game situations. Once the activities have finished the girls will watch the Cardiff Blues U18s take on the Ospreys U18s. This will allow the girls to see first hand what they have to aspire to, and hopefully surpass in the future.
This season will also see the setting up of U13 girls development centres throughout the Blues region.
The centres are open to girls of all experience and are a great way to further their development. The centres will also give young girls the chance to meet other girls interested in Women’s Rugby.
Centres have been set up in the following places:
Aberdare: skills taster day, training day and times TBC
Barry: they are hosting a skills taster day at their club on 18th March, at 1pm. Training will be on the 15th April, from 1pm-2pm
