Cardiff Quartet Selected to face Japan

Four Cardiff Rugby players have been selected in the Wales squad for Saturday’s Nations Championship clash against Japan at the Principality Stadium.

Josh Adams and Alex Mann have both been named in Steve Tandy’s starting XV, while Teddy Williams and James Botham are included among the replacements for Wales’ first home fixture of the competition.

Adams starts on the wing, continuing his involvement in the Wales side, while Mann is named at blindside flanker as he prepares to feature in the back row alongside Jac Morgan and Aaron Wainwright.

There are also opportunities for two Cardiff forwards from the bench, with second-row Teddy Williams and back-row James Botham providing cover for the pack.

There are also inclusions for former Cardiff products such as Tomos Williams, Louis Rees-Zammit, Max Llewllyn, Rhys Carré and Louie Hennesey.

Wales welcome Japan to Principality Stadium on Saturday, November 7 (16:40), as they return home following the opening three rounds of the inaugural Nations Championship.

Head coach Steve Tandy has made several changes to his starting line-up, with Archie Griffin and Dafydd Jenkins both returning from injury to make their first appearances in the competition.

Nicky Smith is named at loosehead prop for his first start of the championship, while Ben Carter also returns to the starting XV after missing the previous round.

Wales will be looking to make home advantage count as they begin the next stage of their Nations Championship campaign in Cardiff.
