Sid Scores As Wales Win

12th February 2006

Cardiff Blues Lock Robert Sidoli scored only his second try for Wales as the 2005 Grand Slam winners beat Scotland 28-18.

Wales recorded their first win of the RBS 6 Nations 2006 campaign with victory at the Millennium Stadium. Sidoli scored his first try for Wales against Italy last season and followed that up with a try against Calvisano in this season's Heineken Cup for the Blues.

Three Cardiff Blues players started the game, with Martyn Williams and Rhys Thomas joining Sidoli amongst the Forwards. During the second half Gethin Jenkins, Mike Phillips and Nick Robinson also entered the fray as substitutes.

A number of other players from the region had equally good weekends, as Wales recorded victories at Under 19 and Under 21 level as well. Dafydd Hewitt and Jamie Roberts crossed for tries at Rodney Parade and Bradley Davies captained the Under 19 to success at Aberavon.
