Prop Ma'afu targets crucial Treviso victory

22nd March 2016

Prop Salesi Ma'afu has thanked the Arms Park faithful for their fantastic support since moving to Cardiff Blues - and targeted a crucial win over Treviso as the perfect way to repay them.

Front row man mountain Ma’afu has now played six games for Danny Wilson’s men and quickly made an impression as big as his frame with fans.

The 33-year-old former Australian international is determined to repay that faith and is also out for playing revenge when the team face Benetton Treviso on Friday night at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.

“It’s great when the crowd are behind you and it’s been overwhelming the way they have got behind me. I appreciate it and I want to perform at my best for them,” he said.

“It’s been good for me at Cardiff Blues - so far so good. I’ve still got a bit of work to do to get myself to where I want to be and back to full fitness.

“I’m stringing some games together and feel better for that. It’s all about trying to hit my top form. I’m on the right track.

He added: “We won’t take Benetton Treviso lightly and I guess we do owe them one for the last game.

“We’ve got a good week of preparation to get ourselves right and hopefully we can get the same result as the Munster game.”
