More than 1,000 grassroots players, coaches and parents took to the pitch as part of Cardiff Rugby’s first Clubs’ Day of the 2025-26 season, celebrating the strength of the community game across the region.
The initiative is split across two fixtures, with the first group of clubs – all Minis teams in the region from Under 7s to Under 11s – already enjoying a memorable matchday experience during Cardiff’s victory over Racing 92 on Saturday. The remaining clubs will take centre stage when the Blue & Blacks host Benetton Rugby at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday, January 24 (19:45 KO).
In total, 25 clubs from across the length and breadth of the Cardiff Rugby region were represented, with Mini’s given the opportunity to experience a matchday at the iconic Arms Park. Young players proudly showed their colours and took part in the traditional half-time parade, creating lasting memories for players, families and supporters alike.
Clubs’ Day continues to play an important role in strengthening the link between the professional game and grassroots rugby, recognising the vital contribution local clubs make within their communities.

Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation Director Nadine Griffiths was delighted with the turnout and the atmosphere created by clubs from across the region.
“It was fantastic to see so many young players and families at the Arms Park and to feel that buzz around the stadium,” said Griffiths. “Clubs’ Day is all about celebrating the grassroots game and the people who make it special, and the response we’ve had has been brilliant.
“It was also great to see clubs and teams travelling in from outside of Cardiff to take part in the half-time parade. That really shows the reach of the Cardiff Rugby region and how strong the connection is across our communities. We wanted to do this as a way of thanking everyone involved in these clubs for their contribution and hard work in the game of rugby up and down the country.
“We’re already looking forward to doing it all again when we welcome the next group of clubs for the Benetton Rugby game later this month.”

The next Junior Clubs’ Day will take place during our home fixture against Benetton Rugby on Saturday, January 24 (19:45 KO).
The opportunity is open to all junior teams within the Cardiff Rugby region, from Under 12s to Under 16s. Each participating club will receive 20 free junior tickets and five adult tickets.
