Danny Wilson’s side returned to Championship action last week, where three tries and 21 points from the boots of Gareth Anscombe and Jarrod Evans was enough to secure a 36-30 victory over Connacht.
A late missed penalty saw Glasgow claim a narrow 19-20 victory over the Blues during the reverse fixture at Cardiff Arms Park earlier in the season.
Five changes have been made to the side that defeated the Galway-based province, with Wales international, Gareth Anscombe, appointed skipper and replacing Matthew Morgan at full back.
The other change amongst the backline sees USA captain, Blaine Scully, returning from international duty to take his place on the wing.
Three changes are made in the pack, with Josh Turnbull, Brad Thyer and Kirby Myhill returning to the starting line-up, while Macauley Cook makes a positional change to partner George Earle in the second row.
Rey Lee-Lo is named amongst the replacements following three weeks of international action with Samoa.
Glasgow Warriors go into Friday’s clash having picked up nine wins from the opening nine PRO14 fixtures, and sit on top of Conference A.
The Scottish-outfit have been boosted by the return of international half-back duo, Henry Pyrgos and Peter Horne, who are two of five changes made from last week’s convincing win over Ospreys at Liberty Stadium.
Alex Dunbar is also re-introduced into midfield for the Scotstoun clash, while Siua Halanukonuka and Ryan Wilson bolster the pack.
What They Said:
Despite the number of players missing through injury, Danny Wilson insists his side can travel to Conference A leaders with confidence following their recent run of good form, which includes six wins from eight Guinness PRO14 and European fixtures.
“We’re still able to put out a side that I’m confident that can go out to perform against the in-form team in the Championship at the moment,” said Wilson.
“We took them as close as can be at our place and could’ve had a home win, which would’ve been quite a feat considering the form they’re now in.
“We know it’s going to be a challenge, we know they’re going to have some internationals back, but it comes off the back of some good wins in the PRO14 so we can go up there with a bit of confidence.
“We roll into this game with confidence and hopefully we can test Glasgow. We’re aware we go up there as underdogs and aware of the challenges ahead of us.”
Jarrod Evans, who continues at fly-half, knows Glasgow present a formidable challenge but insists the Blues travel north with plenty of confidence.
He said: “We’re coming off the back of a good and much-need win against Connacht, and we’ll go out there and have a good crack at Glasgow.
“Glasgow could have all their internationals out and put in a performance like that (47-6 victory over the Ospreys), it doesn’t matter who plays they are still going to be a very strong side.
“They’ve made a name for themselves for this chaotic way of playing, they just seem to like a high-speed game and it works for them. They have a lot of players who one versus one are very dangerous and it works in their favour a lot of the time.
“You have to counteract that by controlling our game and not giving them any easy opportunities with our kicking game. It’s a tough place to go but we will be confident going there.”
