CAVC out to defend Schools and Colleges League title

Pathway | 1st December 2022

Cardiff and Vale College will be out to defend their Schools & Colleges League title next Wednesday when they take on Coleg Sir Gar in the cup final at Principality Stadium.

Martyn Fowler’s men finished top of the pile in the regular season table, suffering only a single loss during the course of the campaign.

They will face off against second-placed Coleg Sir Gar at the national stadium next week, a side which has also enjoyed previous success in this competition.

Coleg y Cymoedd - who recorded an impressive win over Sir Gar at Sardis Road last night - and Ysgol Glantaf round off the top four, and will go head-to-head in the plate final.

Whitchurch High School finished in ninth place, with Cardiff age grade players represented across all four local schools.

The rugby programme at CAVC continues to grow from strength-to-strength, with last season’s triumphant side including Harrison James and Mackenzie Martin, both whom have represented Cardiff RFC in the Indigo Group Premiership this season.

Following Wednesday’s final they are set to depart for Thailand where they will compete in an international schools festival alongside the likes of Millfield (England), Grey College (South Africa) and Hamilton Boys (New Zealand).
