Cardiff Rugby’s box holders for the 2025-26 season were invited to an exclusive wine tasting this week to soft launch the new Jack Matthews Team Room.

The event hosted by Fine Wines Direct and Pommery, two of the club’s new partners, was designed to allow guests to sample and order some of the companies’ high-end products ahead of the season.

It also served as the perfect opportunity to showcase and soft launch the new Jack Matthews Team Room, sponsored by Heineken, the club’s newest hospitality offering. 

Cardiff Rugby commercial director, Jack Butler said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many of our box holders to the Arms Park ahead of the new season and to introduce them to Fine Wines Direct and Pommery.

“Fine Wines Direct have joined us as our new Official Wine Partners and Pommery as our Official Champagne Partner, and both will be supplying our corporate areas throughout the new season including our private hospitality boxes and the new Jack Matthews Team Room sponsored by Heineken. 

“So, it was an ideal opportunity to do an exclusive wine tasting with their expert sommeliers, sampling some of the brilliant reds, whites, rosés and champagne they stock, in the fantastic new team room.

“We still have limited availability across our hospitality spaces this season and are determined to have our best year ever!” 

The new Jack Matthews Team Room hospitality offering will see guests hosted by former stars such as Ellis Jenkins and Rhys Priestland, in the first team squad’s official meeting room. 

Situated right in the inner sanctum of Cardiff Arms Park, guests will dine where countless legends of the game have met. 

Packages include a modern menu of fire-grilled gourmet dishes and a complimentary bar, with bespoke cocktails also available to purchase. 

Guests will also be taken behind the scenes to the Tunnel Club Experience, a reserved premium block seat and have post-match access to the space with the Pommery Performance also presented.
