The new Cardiff Blues Pro and Classic shirts are now in the shop and the Blues are offering supporters the chance to receive a £10 discount off the new playing shirt in a kit amnesty with the support of SOS IRB Kit Aid.
The new playing shirt, which is produced by official kit suppliers Canterbury of New Zealand, is available to purchase from the club shop now. The first 1,000 supporters to bring in their old Canterbury Shirts with the bmibaby logo on the front will receive £10 off their new shirt, which has our new principal partners EADS as the main shirt sponsor.
All your old rugby shirts will be put to good use as we will be teaming up with SOS Kit Aid, who will send old shirts, with the help of the IRB, via bona fide country rugby federations to help the development of junior rugby in disadvantaged countries. The Cardiff Blues squad started the collection with a donation of last seasons kit.
Supporters are also encouraged to donate any other training kit they my have to SOS IRB Kit Aid. A boot bin will be placed outside the club shop for the collection of ay CLEAN rugby shirts (preferably in team sets), CLEAN rugby shorts/socks (preferably in team sets), CLEAN rugby boots from sizes 4 to 11, CLEAN rugby balls/ball bags and any other training kit that schools and clubs would like to donate.
The number of countries that SOS IRB Kit Aid support has increased considerably since the projects inception and it runs up to 22 deliveries per year. It now distributes kit to 11 countries with over 50 other rugby playing nations on the waiting list around the world.
The rugby federations and union that SOS IRB Kit Aids supports, identifies each countrys requirements and distributes kits through their development network of schools and clubs.
Speaking at the Cardiff Arms Park club shop, Graham Price MBE, the former Pontypool, Wales, British and Irish Lions front row forward and SOS IRB Kit Aid Ambassador for Wales said, We are delighted to welcome the Cardiff Blues on board.
As ambassador for SOS IRB Kit Aid in Wales I am proud and honoured to support the chance to spread rugby to youngsters from emerging nations.
The hope is that they too can have an opportunity to take part in our great game.
