Cardiff Blues North U16 recently held their end-of-season presentation at Nando's, Merthyr Tydfil, following a very successful season for the youngsters.

Paul Mathews's side finished the season with most points compared to all their regional counterparts, having won seven games out of eight, accumulating 36 points.

18 players from Cardiff Blues North were selected for the Cardiff Blues U16 combined squad, alongside members of the Cardiff Blues South set-up, which finished their campaign undefeated following three wins and one draw.

Ieuan Pring and Lloyd Gregory both picked up the main award of the evening, after being named joint Players of the Year.

However, it was Ioan Evans who got the vote of his team-mates, claiming the Player's Player of the Year, while Garyn Phillips was named the squad's Most Improved Player. The Management Award was awarded to Cameron Barrett.

Meanwhile, six players were rewarded for their performances over the course of the season by gaining Welsh Schools U16s honours, which faced a very strong England Schools side at Bridgewater RFC in April.
