This will run for the entire length of the 2010/11 season, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to experience life in a professional sporting environment.
The 2009/10 season was a fantastic one for the Blues that saw the team lift the Amlin Challenge Cup in the south of France, following their magnificent 28 to 21 point victory over French giants Toulon.
This new position will give the successful applicant the opportunity to experience life in a fast moving industry and would suit a student looking to fill a year-long work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into the sports Media / Marketing industry.
Duties will include:
Writing copy and helping to produce Blues match day programme, official website and all commercial and marketing literature
Helping to run the Blues press office, both during the week and on a match day
General PR, events and promotion and also Marketing administration
The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong I.T. skills, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; therefore, experience in journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial. Knowledge of Cardiff Blues and rugby union in general is preferable, but not essential. Please note that this role will involve working at weekends and some unsocial hours.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a significant portfolio across a number of PR and Marketing fields, as well as working alongside the Community, Sales and Sponsorship departments within one of the world’s best known rugby clubs.
