Cardiff Blues will face two-times Heineken Champions Cup winners, Saracens, as they return to the top table of European club rugby.

The 2017/18 Challenge Cup winners were drawn alongside the Aviva Premiership champions in Pool 3 at the ceremony, which was held at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland on Wednesday.

John Mulvihill’s side were also matched up against Scottish outfit, Glasgow Warriors. Wales’ Capital Region secured a double over their Guinness PRO14 rivals the last time they met in European competition in 2013/14, but this will be the first time they face Saracens since the inception of regional rugby.

The Blues are reunited with Top 14 side Lyon, after the sides met in the Challenge Cup pool stages last season, with the Welsh region coming out on top both home and away on their path to European success.
