Four Cardiff Blues players were in the thick of the action as the world famous touring club, the Barbarians, racked up a record 104 points at Northampton against the East Midlands.
Pride of place went to fly-half Nick Robinson who marked his impressive Barbarians’ debut with a personal tally of 24 points from 12 successful conversion kicks.
Joining him in an all-Blues’ midfield were brother Jamie and Matt Allen while Robin Sowden-Taylor completed the Blues’ contingent when he joined the action as a 53rd minute replacement.
Allen and Sowden-Taylor scored tries but the headlines in that department went to the Gqwent Dragons, with Jason Forster scoring four tries and Rod Snow adding another two as the Baa-Baas finished with 16 tries in their 104-10 victory.
