Taine Basham

Taine Basham was a star signing made ahead of the 2025-26 season – joining from the Dragons on a long-term deal. 

The versatile and powerful back-row forward made 109 appearances across seven seasons for the Rodney Parade outfit, scoring 18 tries. During his time in Newport, he established himself as one of the club’s most consistent performers and quickly earned Wales honours. 

Having previously represented Wales U20s, he made his senior international debut in 2021 and now has 17 caps to his name. 

He joined the Blue & Blacks to take his game to the next level and will compete in a back-row packed with talent, providing power and x-factor on both sides of the ball.
