Iwan Stephens

Cardiff Rugby signed Welsh-qualified winger, Iwan Stephens, from the Newcastle Falcons ahead of the 2024/25 Season. Stephens is the son of former Wales and Llanelli fly-half, Colin Stephens, and has represented England at Under 20s level.

The speedster is a former Rugby League player who made the code switch to Rugby Union in order to join Newcastle’s academy in 2020. Stephens rose the ranks fast at Newcastle and went on to score 11 tries in 25 Senior appearances for the Tyneside club.

The winger scored a try against Harlequins upon his debut and followed that up with a try the following weekend against Bath and was named in the Premiership Team of the Week – announcing himself very quickly as a dangerous finisher in the English Premiership.
