Second placed Cardiff Blues welcome the Scarlets to the Cardiff City Stadium for their Magners League clash, this Friday, 8.05pm kick off.

The Blues are currently the best home side in the Magners League and have won their last six games in all competitions at Cardiff City Stadium since Gloucester won there in the LV= Cup on 14 March.

The Blues have lost just one of their last eight encounters with fellow Welsh regions, against the Ospreys on New Year’s Day, while the Scarlets 18-21 defeat to Ospreys in round five ended a three game winning run in the Magners League.

Speaking ahead of the match Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby, David Young, said,

“I think we have got to shake it up a little bit as it doesn’t seem to be working for us at the minute.”

“There’s no point in having a squad and picking the same players when realistically perhaps not everyone’s firing on all cylinders, both individually and collectively.”

“It’s a massive game for us against the Scarlets.”

“I think they’ve played some great attacking rugby and are the highest try scorers in the Magners League, so we know they can score tries from anywhere.”

“However, we beat them three times last season so can take confidence from that.”

“It’s important firstly and foremost to get back to winning ways, but I’m hoping we have a performance to suit as well.”

To celebrate the match, a Welsh Village is being set up in the usual Supporters Quarter area located behind the Canton Stand and will host an array of pre-match Welsh themed activities and entertainment. There will be choirs, dance troops, produce stands, gifts stalls, player appearances and interactive games for the children - gates open from 6:30pm.

Cardiff Blues stadium card holders are offered a doubled discount for the match, so they can now get a £5 discount off their match ticket. Adult tickets for Cardiff Blues stadium card holders will now only cost £15 and senior citizen tickets £10.

To purchase a Stadium Card or tickets for the match, call the ticket office on 0845 345 1400.
