The work of development officers throughout the Blues region is capably assisted by numerous volunteers and coaches at every level.
It is the work of these unsung volunteers that help make rugby development in the Blues region the success it is today.
Ask any development officer and they are keen to stress the support they receive in their work in the region from Sport.Cardiff, WRU, and the corporate partners. However, they are equally as likely to commend the positive work of many unsung heroes.
Gary Knowles said,
We just simply would not have the good news stories if it was not for the people that help manage, coach, referee and support our work as development officers and the age group teams throughout Cardiff and the region.
This months tinys Choice award winner is Kirsty Williams, nominated by Girls Development Officer Nadine Griffiths. Kirsty plays for Llandaff North Under-16s and has represented East Wales Under-16s this year, which is a massive achievement for her as she is partially blind. Kirsty often volunteers her spare time to coach other partially sighted children and help them achieve and enjoy the game in the same way. An inspiration to all, her work ethic is tremendous and deservedly receives her recognition today. Kirsty receives a £100 flight credit courtesy of Blues principle sponsors bmibaby.
In fact its a double award presentation this month as Dale McIntosh will belatedly present Wayne Mounter with his tinys Choice award from bmibaby at the Borders game for the month of March.
