University of Glamorgan Rugby Coaches Required

19th September 2012

Two coaches are required to coach the University of Glamorgan's Men's 2nd and 3rd rugby teams

The University has three teams which participate in the BUCS leagues and the first team plays in the Premier league. The head coach of the first team is Steve Goddard who is assisted by Paul Phillips. The new coaches would work as a team, with Steve and Paul, and would have responsibility for the 2nd and 3rd teams.

Training: Monday evenings 6.30-8.00pm, Glamorgan Sport Park Treforest.

Matches: Matches are on Wednesday afternoon in the BUCS league. There are no matches on a weekend.

Match programme: At the beginning of the year there is a very busy trials system starting on the weekend of 29/30 September and continuing on Monday evenings and Wednesday afternoons until the first matches on Wednesday 17th October.

Coaching Commitment: Training is on Monday evenings only and matches are on a Wednesday afternoon with most matches kicking off at 2.00pm. Matches are played against other universities in Wales and the South West. Ideally, coaches would be able to attend match days, however this is often difficult for coaches with full time jobs. This is understandable and some coaches can only watch some of the matches. The match programme starts in mid October and will finish in mid December. The programme then re starts in mid/late January and is complete by mid March.

Qualifications: Minimum Level 2

Payment: £15 per hour
