Callum Sheedy had put pressure on the North with a well-angled kick to the corner but the North secured the line out to clear. James Whittingham was next to break the line for the South but his final pass went astray.

Sheedy had a chance to gain the points of the game with his first penalty in the 14th minute, but it drifted wide. The North did have their own chances, Corry Shepherd making a break that nearly led to the game’s first try, but again the final pass went down.

The first points went to the South though. A break by Ellis Wyn Benham was halted and hands in the ruck gave Tyler Williams an attempt from 30 meters, which he successfully landed.

As the half drew to a close the South extended their lead. A set piece move brought in wing Joseph Kruger Williams who crossed unopposed under the posts. Sheedy added the extras for a ten point half time lead.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with the ball spending a lot of time on the floor. The North got themselves on the board with a Sheppard penalty but the South were next on the scoreboard with a try their own. Great work by Matthew Edwards has set up a position and as the ball was moved wide Whittingham was able to squeeze in at the corner flag.

The North were begging to play some rugby and pressuring the South. Full back Cody Baker making plenty of yards after his catch of an up and under. The support though couldn’t get to him and the move broke down.
The North did get reward for their pressure a few minutes later though when substitute Matthew Paul was on the end of a move that went from one side of the field to the other.

That was to be the last of the scoring as the South kept up their unbeaten run.

Speaking after the game Head Coach Richard Hodges said, “It was a win. The squad marked it as six out of ten. Credit to the North though they have improved massively this season and another five minutes and who knows we could have ended up losing the game.”
