Teddy Williams was the big winner at the Cardiff Rugby’s End of Season Awards, held at Tiger Yard in Cardiff Bay on Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old second-row won both The Peter Thomas Player of the Season Award and Fan’s Player of the Season Award, sponsored by JAR Site, after an outstanding campaign, which saw him often skipper the side in the absence of Liam Belcher.
Number eight Alun Lawrence won the Players Player of the Season Awards, sponsored by We Care Communcations, and was the top tackler in the BKT United Rugby Championship this season.
Elsewhere, Rhys Barratt secured the Breakthrough of the Season Gong, sponsored by Fine Wines Direct UK, after a campaign which saw his game take big strides forward, while full-back Matt Young won Academy Player of the Season, sponsored by CAVC.
Harri Millard’s magnificent try against Munster after some individual brilliance by Taulupe Faletau was voted by the fans as Try of the Season, and was sponsored by Bonnie Rogues.
Legendary centre Rey Lee-Lo was presented with the Special Recognition Award after his stellar Cardiff career came to a close. Lee-Lo played 180 matches for the Blue and Blacks across 10 seasons and scored 33 tries.
He was a key member of the side that won the 2017/18 Challenge Cup.
