Sowden-Taylor takes on Stade

5th January 2005

Robin Sowden-Taylor is included at open-side flanker when the Blues play Stade Francais Paris on Friday evening.

He comes in for Martyn Williams in a starting line-up showing six changes from the side that played the Ospreys last Saturday.

Other newcomers are Richard Smith, John Yapp, Gareth Williams and Nathan Thomas and there is one positional switch in the back row where Kort Schubert moves across to number 8.

In a new batch of injuries Gethin Jenkins has a dead leg and Craig Quinnell and Ryan Powell both have knee injuries. Jams Malpas is not registered to play in Europe.

Director of coaching David Young said, "Robin Sowden-Taylor has been player of the month in November and deserves his chance. Martyn Willimas has been playing while carrying a couple of knocks so we are using him as a replacement this time."
