Scully and Lee-Lo start respective Tests

17th November 2017

While Kristian Dacey, Seb Davies and Alex Cuthbert will face Georgia at the Principality Stadium on Saturday, fellow Cardiff Blues Blaine Scully and Rey Lee-Lo will also be in international action.

The duo have both held onto their places in the USA and Samoa teams respectively to take the Blues’ tally to five players in Test action this weekend.

Scully captains USA Eagles in their opening autumn international against Germany on Saturday, with former Cardiff Blues teammate Cam Dolan on the bench.

USA face Georgia the following weekend and Scully believes they will be key encounters for his side as they continue their development towards the 2019 World Cup.

He said: "The objective and responsibility remain constant — to represent the United States to the best of our ability.

"The focus for us as a team will be on being as prepared as possible for our test matches against Germany and Georgia. We have two exciting opportunities in difficult environments.

"The tests will challenge us not only competitively but our ability to quickly build our team systems, standards, and culture.  This window, however short, is a very important component in our development towards the 2019 World Cup."

Rey Lee-Lo also remains a centre of attention for Samoa following their thrilling 44-38 defeat to Scotland last weekend.

Samoa face Romania and will be looking to get back to winning ways, despite a difficult few weeks due to off field issues.

The two teams have faced each other just once previously with the Islanders going down 32-24 in Bucharest in 1989.

Lee-Lo once again lines-up outside makeshift fly-half Tim Nanai Williams, the brother of Cardiff Blues number eight Nick Williams.
