Rhondda Schools claimed the Dewar Shield after a thrilling 12-10 final victory over Cardiff Schools at the Millennium Stadium.
The Under 16’s tournament final was tightly contested in an end to end game. The opening 15 minutes saw both teams enjoy periods of dominance with neither team able to cut through the opposing defence.
Rhondda Schools managed to break the deadlock when Callum Norris got the try with a driving maul, Declan Williams converting.
Cardiff Schools levelled matters in the second half when Sam Brinkworth went over, and Will Brinkley kicked the conversion.
And they promptly took the lead through a Brinkley penalty but when they had a player in the sin bin Rhondda wasted no time in taking advantage of the extra man, Gerwyn Coleman going over.
