The draw for the first round of the Redrow Homes Blues Cup has been made at the Cardiff Blues training base at the Vale of Glamorgan.
Interest in the prestigious cup competition has again been high and entries have reached over 70 teams across three age groups in the Blues region.
The window for the first round of games is already upon us with teams playing their first fixture between the 4th of October and the 18th of October.
U12s Blues Cup Draw
The U12 first round draw sees some mouth-watering fixtures across the region as well as some exciting local derbies.
Merthyr will host Cowbridge in a North vs South regional battle while Abercynon and Ystrad Rhondda will be vying for bragging rights in the Valleys.
Draw: Builth Wells vs Cefn Coed; Abercynon vs Ystrad Rhondda; Merthyr vs Cowbridge; Penarth vs Pentyrch; Llantwit Major vs Llandaff; Llantwit Fardre vs Mountain Ash; Dowlais vs Rumney; St Peters vs Abercwmboi; Llanishen vs Aberdare.
Bye teams: Dinas Powys, CRICC, Gwernyfred, Brecon, Pontyclun, Pontypridd.
U13s Blues Cup Draw
There are again some notable fixtures in the first round of the U13s cup with last year’s U12 winners CRICC being given a tough home draw against Fairwater while last year’s U12 finalists Treorchy will travel to Llandaff North.
Draw: CRICC vs Fairwater; Llantwit Fardre vs Ystrad Rhondda; Abercynon vs Barry; Llanishen vs Dowlais; Brecon vs Pentyrch; Llandaff North vs Treocrchy; Treharris vs Pontypridd; Cowbridge vs Llandaff.
Bye teams: St Peters, Rhiwbina. Rumney, Penarth, Abercwmboi, Cefn Coed, Aberdare, Pontyclun.
U14s Blues Cup Draw
The U14s first round draw includes a momentous local derby with Rhiwbina hosting Llanishen in what will be a hotly contested encounter. Another stand out fixture will see last year’s U13 finalists Abercynon travelling to Dinas Powys.
Draw: Dinas Powys vs Abercynon; Llandaff vs Cefn Coed; Pontyclun vs Pentyrch; Rhwibina vs Llanishen; Treorchy vs Barry; Ystrad Rhonnda vs Llnatwit Major; CRICC vs Merthyr; St Peters vs Llandaff North; Penarth vs Brecon.
Bye Teams: Rumney, Cowbridge, Gwernyfred, Builth Wells, Aberdare, Pontypridd, Beddau.
