Are all the WEPR team rugby fans?
Most like rugby and enjoy watching the Blues, so we aim to give everyone their chance to come along. Several of our team are female and in their 20s and I suspect they enjoy being with players in the lounge after the game.
Which Blues player has impressed you this season?
Tough one that. It’s great to see Tom James making his mark, especially as my wife Janis used to teach him at his Rhymney school and so knows the family, too. We were also impressed with the new guy with very short blonde hair, then we realised it was Andy Powell after a sheep shearing.
And the most memorable game?
In recent times that must be last year’s Heineken Cup semi final against Leicester Tigers. Great atmosphere and a good game, but of course with the wrong ending.
Have you got a rugby background?
My Porth grammar school only had a tarmac playing field back then – and even Rhondda boys aren’t tough enough to play rugby on that. So it was soccer for me during schooldays, and I didn’t exactly excel at it.
What do you like about the Premier Club?
It’s a comfortable way to watch a game and entertain guests, and as I get older I appreciate it. As I’m not blessed with a lot of patience, I admit I like swift service at the bar. It’s also good to be so close to the warm indoors – and that has been most welcome during the recent freezing weather.
What does Warwick Emanuel PR and film do?
We work for companies throughout the UK – managing communications campaigns. Much of this is with utilities, the public sector and with companies intending to set up operations in Wales. We also do a lot of new media and film work. We aim to enjoy it and make work fun.
