Llewellyn determined to build on run of games in 12 jersey

First Team News | 9th May 2022

Max Llewellyn is determined to build on his recent run of games in the number 12 jersey and put a marker down ahead of the 2022/23 season.

With nine appearances under his belt so far, this is the biggest involvement that the centre has had in a single season for Blue and Blacks’ first team.

Llewellyn has started in each of the last four games, and enjoyed a stand-out performance against Zebre Parma last week - scoring his first try of the campaign as Cardiff stormed to a bonus point win.

The academy product was delighted to see his side bouncing back following a run of defeats as Cardiff signed off their season at home with a win ahead of back-to-back away trips to Dragons and Benetton Rugby.

“Yeah, I did enjoy it to be fair and we were coming here today and knew how we wanted to play our game, keep hold of the ball and go through the phases. We did that really well and we created opportunities for our dangerous backline.

“I'm definitely happy with my performance. I’ve just been trying to get my hands on the ball a bit more and get myself in the game rather than letting it drift away.

“I've had a good run of games and I hopefully I can just continue that and  take it into the last few games and start next season.

“It's really good to be fair, and especially with it being the last home game and the boys leaving so we really want to go out there and put a big shift in for them 'cause we know it's going to be their last one.

“It’s nice to see  the youngsters coming through and being given the chance. We all have a really good relationship as well, so it's really enjoyable when we all come on to pitch together and play. Hopefully we can just continue that and take it into next season and build upon it.”
