Following the news that Jonah Lomu has signed to play for the Blues, Jonah has taken the time out to send a message to supporters.
Dear Cardiff Blues Fans,
Both Fiona and I would like to take this opportunity to thank those whose messages have come in over the last few days welcoming us to Cardiff and more broadly to Welsh rugby. We have been overwhelmed by the messages of support.
Its been a tough few years for us, with a lot of challenges and its great to be so close to being back on the field again.
On one hand it is sad to be leaving New Zealand, but on the other, I am really looking forward to the move to Cardiff. Wales has always been good to me and the Blues are a great team to be joining.
Ive always received a warm welcome in Wales and it is similar to New Zealand in many ways. The Welsh love their rugby like we do.
Ive been following news of the team and its great to see them doing so well. Im looking forward to joining the guys on the field and of course look forward to seeing you all in November.
