Lawrence and Robinson depart on loan

Cardiff Rugby can confirm Alun Lawrence and Olly Robinson have left the club on loan for the remainder of the season.

The back-row duo have respectively joined Jersey Reds in the Championship and Leicester Tigers in the English Premiership.

With such riches in the back-row and a significantly disrupted season, both players have struggled to secure game time.

They link up with their new clubs today but both have call back clauses in the loan agreements, should they been needed in the Welsh capital. 

Cardiff director of rugby Dai Young, said: “We wish both Alun and Olly all the very best for their time in England and look forward to seeing how they perform.

“We are blessed with talent and strength in depth in the back-row and both players deserve and require the opportunity to play.

“They will both now have the chance to secure regular rugby at a high level and we can call them back if required.”
