Josh McNally: We’re Turning the Arms Park Into a Fortress

Josh McNally hailed the resilience and unity within the Cardiff squad as they signed off their latest block of fixtures with another hard-fought home win.

The back-five forward was quick to praise the collective effort after a performance that embodied the side’s growing confidence and defensive steel, with three wins from three at home this season proving just how much the home support helps raise the team’s performance on the pitch.

“We’ve talked all year about turning this place into our fortress,” McNally said. “It’s going to be a tough place for anyone to come and play against us at the Arms Park, and that’s a credit to everyone involved.”

Cardiff battled through wet conditions and another tense finish to secure the result, with Ioan Lloyd’s 73rd-minute kick proving decisive in earning the team a vital victory – a match reminiscent of their narrow win over Connacht earlier in the month.

“Two of our main focuses are growth and fight,” McNally added. “We’re sticking to our process, we’re fighting in every contest, and we want to make it difficult for teams to come here. I’m extremely proud of the fight in this group.”

With a short break now on the horizon, McNally says the squad can take pride in their progress so far, and take the opportunity to recharge before the next block of URC action begins.
