I'm super proud of the lads - Adams

REACTION l Winger Josh Adams reflects on the narrow loss to Scarlets in the BKT United Rugby Championship at Cardiff Arms Park.

The Wales international was disappointed to let the visitors back in the game after two tries gave Cardiff an early 14-0 lead, but was also proud of the fight shown by the team after going down to 14 men with the unfortunate red card of Ellis Jenkins.

"First 20 minutes I thought it was going to be 50 points, the way we started," said Adams.

"We were on fire, I think, looked like a team of players who were understanding each other, we looked like the Cardiff team we want to be, moved the ball extremely well, really, really dangerous and then got a bit complacent I think after that.

"The spirit within the team, the way they've just stuck in for each other, regardless of results or what's happening on the field. The way you just fight for each other, every little moment in the game has been brilliant. I think to get something out of the game tonight with 14 has shown that now as well.

"The desire to fight for everything is important and I'm super proud of the lads. Obviously we're in a tricky period with all the Welsh regions, you know what I mean, with funding, squad size, experience within the squad, but I think just punching above our weight a little bit would be an achievement for us, you know."
