Cardiff Arms Park played host to another memorable edition of the Housr Cardiff Clash last night, as Cardiff University and Cardiff Met went head-to-head in a showcase of high-quality BUCS student rugby. In front of an energetic and vocal crowd of over 6530 fans, Cardiff Met emerged victorious in both the women’s and men’s fixtures, with two fiercely contested matches highlighting the strength of rugby talent across the city. 

The evening opened with a fast-paced women’s encounter, as Cardiff Met powered to a 24-5 victory. Despite the scoreline, Cardiff University delivered a gritty performance, showing real commitment in defence and clear improvement from their previous 59-0 defeat in this fixture earlier in the season.

The men’s match more than lived up to its billing, producing a dramatic 80 minutes that had the Arms Park crowd on edge until the final whistle. With just two points separating the sides heading into the closing stages, Cardiff Met were able to hold on to a tense 31-29 win, securing bragging rights and a season sweep over their rivals, after also winning 56-28 in the previous meeting.

Both fixtures once again underlined the depth of rugby talent within the capital. The Housr Cardiff Clash continues to be a standout event in the city’s university sporting calendar, offering a platform for emerging players to perform at an iconic venue while celebrating the region’s rich rugby culture.
