Cardiff Blues can confirm that hooker Ethan Lewis has linked up with Saracens on loan, providing injury cover for the Greene King IPA Championship outfit.
Academy product Lewis, who has 60 Cardiff Blues appearances under his belt, will remain with Mark McCall’s side for the rest of the 2020/21 campaign.
The former Wales under-20 hooker has featured in nine games this season and makes the move to StoneX Stadium ahead of Saturday’s first home league match, against Jersey Reds.
Director of rugby Dai Young said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for Ethan to head to Saracens and gain valuable game-time in a competitive environment and league.
“With a couple of boys returning from injury recently, there is a lot of competition for the number two jersey here and with the current situation limiting game-time for the wider squad, this opportunity presented itself and will be beneficial for all parties.
