More than 40 coaches from across the region were hosted by Danny Wilson and Richard Hodges ahead of the new season.
As part of the continued professional development pathway within Wales’ Capital Region the coaches from the Blues Under-16s and Under-18s teams, the Dewar Shield and the Hub Officers assembled at the Vale Resort training base.
They received an overview from Cardiff Blues head coach Wilson and Elite Performance Pathway Manager Hodges before pre-season strength and conditioning presentations from Dan Akenhead and Duane Goodfield.
Following the presentation Cardiff Blues skills coach Paul John joined Akenhead and Goodfield to provide a 45-minute skills and conditioning session to the region’s Tier 2 academy players.
Hodges said: “With the age-grade pre-season kicking off next week it is vital that we bring everyone in to put across the key skills and practices we would like to be part of every session.
“This will ensure the conveyor belt of talent continues to produce players with the skills and application to take the next step on their pathway.”
