Good luck to the six Blues North Under 16 players who are involved in the Welsh Schools Coca-Cola Cup final on Thursday at the Brewery Field, Bridgend.

Meurig Davies, Chris Lacey, Callum Phillips, Daniel Morris, Garin Daniel, Luc Rees are all pupils of Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda, who have made history by having 2 teams in the finals - Year 9 and Year 11.

The Year 9 game is at 11:30, Year 11 game is 1pm.

For the first time in the history of the Welsh Schools' Cup, Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda's Under 14 and 16 Rugby teams have reached the final of this prestigious competition, making history in the fact that two teams from one school have reached the final. The Under 14 team sailed through to the final after beating Corpus Christi School 43-7 and the Under 16 team fought off the competition from Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera.

Acting Head, Ms Rhian Morgan Ellis said "Once again, this is a time of celebration in Cymer. The commitment and team spirit by our boys has been second to none. This proves that excellence is possible with 100% effort. We're very proud of the talent of our pupils, and the fact that the whole of Wales can experience that talent in next week's final." Rhondda's Rugby Development Officer Chris Jones also congratulated both teams on this "amazing achievement". Both teams play in the final to be held next week. Ardderchog fechgyn!
