Fairwater RFC Tag Tournament

16th May 2007

Local junior rugby teams from throughout Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan gathered last week for an Under 8’s tag tournament held at Fairwater RFC

Cardiff Blues community coach Liam Scott took charge of refereeing duty in what was an extremely well organised tournament and a great advert for Under 8’s rugby,

The tournament saw the teams split in to two groups with all of the games being fiercely contested but played with a great spirit. Fairwater emerged winners from group one winning all five of their matches. Cowbridge were not to be out done in group two and won all five of their games also.

It would be an evenly matched final played between Fairwater and Cowbridge. An enjoyable day ended with Cowbridge winning the final 3-1 and presented their award by former Cardiff Arms Park favourite and British Lion, Terry Holmes.
