Cardiff Rugby are thrilled to confirm the return of Jarrod Evans to the Arms Park ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The fan favourite swapped Cardiff for Harlequins at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and made 48 appearances in South West London.
But with his contract expiring and a desire to return to Wales, Evans has put pen to paper for a homecoming, and he is excited for the next chapter in his career.
Returning home for historic season
Evans said: “I’m so pleased to be coming back to Cardiff. I came through the system at the Arms Park from 14-years-old, I have so many good memories in Blue & Black and a lot of my friends are still at the club.

“I have kept a close eye on how well they have been going while I was away, whether watching from the stands or afar, and the brand of rugby and atmosphere has been electric. So, I am really excited about coming back and being part of it as the club celebrates its 150th season.
“I feel like I have matured as a player and person. It’s good to get different experiences. I’ve had three with Harlequins where I was out of my comfort zone, experiencing a different environment and style, so hopefully there are things I can bring back to Cardiff.
“I want to help build on the success I’ve seen since I left. We have so many good, young, talented players coming through with some established senior internationals as well. I just want to add what I can, and hopefully the club can go on and build on last season.”
Evans will compete with the likes of Callum Sheedy, Ioan Lloyd and Harri Wilde at the Arms Park, ensuring there is plenty of strength and depth at the Arms Park.
During his previous stint in Cardiff, Evans made 126 times, scored 765 points and helped the Blue & Blacks to the European Challenge Cup title in 2018.
While competing with England and British & Irish Lions ace Marcus Smith at Harlequins, Evans has earned his own recall to the international stage in 2025.
Strength in a pivotal position
Corniel van Zyl said: “I’m really excited to add Jarrod to our squad. Obviously he is returning to his home club, and this place means a lot to him.
“He has been competing at the highest level for a long-term and he’s gone and got some new experiences at Harlequins, which will only have improved him.
“Moving into the Champions Cup, we felt fly-half was an area we needed to strengthen and he will now compete with Callum Sheedy and Ioan Lloyd in a pivotal position for the team where we have some real strength.
“Everyone at the Arms Park will know his attacking style of play and I am looking forward to seeing that, but he has also developed his game at Quins. He has a really balanced game between attacking and control.
“He will also bring a lot off the pitch, helping drive our standards, culture and environment.”
