Charity Bike Ride for #StayStrongForOws

12th January 2015

Friends, family, fans and fundraisers got on their bikes for Cardiff Blues centre Owen Williams on Sunday as they took part in a special charity cycle as part of the #StayStrongForOws campaign.

Over 70 cyclists took part in the 25-mile ride from the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park via the Taff Trail to the Ynys playing fields in Aberdare.

The event was a joint venture between the Cardiff Blues, Aberdare RFC and the Welsh Rugby Union in support of Williams, who sustained a serious injury during the World 10s in Singapore last summer.

Chief Executive at Cardiff Blues, Richard Holland also previewed an even bigger sporting challenge for Ows in the 2015 calendar: “This was the first part of two planned charity bike rides for Owen, with another from Cardiff to Paris in June as part of the #StayStrongForOws fundraising and awareness campaign.”
